What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. The hair quiz runs entirely in your browser: your four answers are held in memory, never transmitted, and disappear the moment you close the tab. There is no account, no login and no newsletter sign-up on this site.
Analytics
We use two measurement tools, and neither one runs until you accept the cookie banner. Google Analytics 4 counts page views; if you refuse the banner or never answer it, it keeps counting without cookies and without any identifier for you. Microsoft Clarity, which records an anonymous replay of how a page was scrolled and clicked, does not load at all unless you accept — it has no cookieless mode. Neither tool receives a name, an email address or an advertising identifier, and neither is used for advertising.
Cookies
Accepting sets three: _ga, which tells one browser from another for Google Analytics, and _clck and _clsk, which tie a session replay together for Microsoft Clarity. Refusing sets none of them. To change your mind either way, clear this site's data in your browser: the banner returns on your next visit, and nothing is stored until you answer it.
Affiliate links
Clicking a partner link sends you to the brand's own site, which sets its own cookies and applies its own privacy policy. We receive back only an anonymous confirmation that an order happened, never your name, address or payment details.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what personal data we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, and object to its processing. Because we hold no personal data, the honest answer to a request is usually that there is nothing to send. Write to privacy@thehaircompare.com and we will answer within thirty days.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the revised version is published here with a new review date. This version was reviewed on 14 September 2026.
